Arroyo's School Counselor Believes:
- ALL students should have an equitable environment that promotes opportunities for all to reach their full social-emotional, college & career, and academic potential.
- ALL students have an inclusive school-climate where all students feel welcome, represented, understood, & supported regardless of their beliefs, ethnicity, race, gender identity, and special needs.
- ALL students have access to a strong ASCA aligned comprehensive school counseling program that encourages collaboration and consultation, as well as the use of data as a tool to identify opportunity gaps that can be addressed in support and interventions.
- The ASCA Ethical School Counseling Standards are instrumental in enhancing our commitment and responsibilities to ALL students.
- The role of a school counselor is to advocate for students, which includes using data to drive practice and intervention, as well as pushing for policy and curriculum that is diverse and inclusive so that ALL students can succeed, and are represented and supported.

Our Mission
The mission of the Arroyo Elementary School Counseling Program is to ensure that all students have access to a data-driven comprehensive school counseling program that advocates and provides an equitable, safe & positive learning environment for all students. Our school counseling program aims to maximize academic achievement, foster social-emotional growth, and promote college & career development. All members of the community, including students, parents, educators, businesses, and community service organizations will collaborate to achieve these goals. We support our students to achieve their educational potential through a multi-tier multi-domain system of support that is inclusive but not limited to: In-class core-curriculum, small groups, individual counseling, and school-wide activities. Our mission is to ensure that ALL students master the ASCA mindset and behavior student standards and attain the necessary skills to develop their individual potential to become advocates & successful lifelong learners in our diverse and changing world.
Our Vision
The vision of the Arroyo Elementary School Counseling program is to ensure that ALL students have a safe and positive learning environment so that ALL students can achieve academic success, social-emotional growth, and attain college & career skills after high school to reach their fullest potential and become lifelong learners. Students will develop the necessary skills to build resilience and self-efficacy to empower them to be advocates & productive citizens who respect themselves and others while contributing to society.
